Wallet next to a Pen

Did you ever lose a wallet? How? I lost my old wallet because it was too fat. Everytime I sat down, it felt uncomfortable in the back pocket of my pants so I always put it on the table which at some point happened to be a bar. Apparently, it got stolen - or I forgot it. I decided to take a look at minimalistic wallets and found the Crabby Wallet on Kickstarter.

Needless to say, the Crabby Wallet is incredibly thin. It has two credit-card sized pockets where you'll be able to fit in about 10 cards. Additionally you can fit in a few folded bills. Unlike the US, here in Germany we don't have 1€ bills. So we got much more coins to carry which won't fit into the Crabby Wallet. I simply try to avoid having coins with me and if I do got some coins, I put them in my pockets, not the wallet.

I carry a credit card, a debit card, my drivers licence, my ID, a car2go membership card and a coupon card along with some bills.

The quality of the wallet is above average though nothing premium. The wallet is made out of elastic textile so you can stretch it out to fit all your cards. As you move the wallet in and out of your pockets multiple times a day, you are going to see some marks. Lose ends here and there, the color gets "dirty" (although I never washed it) and it generally looks worn out after a few months. That said: it will still function. It did not losen it's stretch or broke anywhere. Still, I would've preferred leather.

Wallet with phone in it

You can also stretch out the band to hold your phone although that only works with small phones like the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5/5S is too tall and all other phones such as the HTC One, Lumia 920 or Galaxy S5 are just too wide for it.

The Crabby Wallet is so thin and lightweight, I can easily carry it in my front pocket along with my iPhone. It fits nicely into a shirt pocket too - if available.

I backed the Crabby Wallet project on Kickstarter and recieved it in September 2013. A year later, I'm still using it and haven't touched a regular wallet since. You can get yours on crabbygear.com.
